While the KS1 group run their food trucks at the Summer Fair, KS2 participants will be enhancing their financial literacy through concepts related to banking and investments etc.

There is something for everyone, Maths lovers and haters alike! Key mathematical skills will be applied through the camp in order to best develop the most profitable business.

Hear it from our participants!

"You chose the worst name ever [for a camp]. Who wants to go for a Maths camp? But I'm so glad you called it that so my mum signed me up and it is so much fun!"

[On day 3] "Oh, I wish this camp will never end."

"You are always tricking us. We are actually doing Maths work but we thought we are just playing!"

Our camp programme is uniquely designed based on these core principles

Singapore Maths aims at empowering the learners with a solid foundation in understanding mathematical concepts through mastery. Singapore Maths is an amalgamation of various research into learning approaches for Maths, including the Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract concept, to seek mastery of the subject by inculcating conceptual understanding (the why and not just the how).

Mastery and Understanding
Applicable & Experiential Learning

We apply that approach to develop our unique methodology to allow our participants to sharpen their mathematical understanding and general problem-solving skills in the context of real-life application. In a small group camp setting, the participants get to apply and reinforce these skills through experiential and interactive learning with facilitation from the camp instructors. Experiential, hands-on and interactive learning allows the participants to commit more to their memory and see the applicability of Maths skills.

Associates Play and Fun with Maths

According to Albert Einstein, "Play is the highest form of Research." "If learning is like a workout for the brain, then play-based learning is the heavy lifting." At our camps, we absolutely believe this to be true. Lots of heavy-lifting at our camps but the kids don't feel the effort.

“Mathematics is not about following rules. It is about play.”

Visual Thinking in Maths

Bar modelling is one of the distinctive feature of Singapore Maths. Building on the pedagogy of transiting from the concrete to the abstract through the visual and pictorial, we equip the participants with the skills to visualise abstract mathematical concepts. All our participants have their little notebook to carry around throughout the camp to do their drawings and visualisations.
